Objectives
a) Obtain basic structural information for knowledge of different sectors of economic activity.
b) Serve as a reference framework for censuses, sampling designs and sectoral surveys.
c) Serve as a source of information for a demographic analysis on the population of companies and establishments.
Coverage
- Population:
- The Directory contains information on all the companies and establishments as units that carry out economic activities. Currently, the ones coming under the Primary Sector are excluded, that is, Agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing (Section A of CNAE-2009), which are planned to be included in the short-term; and Household activities as employers of domestic staff and as producers of goods and services for own use and the Activities of extraterritorial entities and organisations (Sections T and U of CNAE-2009.

- Includes all the establishments located in the area of the Autonomous Community of Euskadi and associated companies.

- The Directory refers to a determined natural year.
