- Press release
Objetivo
The quality datasheet seeks to establish a list of quantitative indicators that reflect the quality of a specific statistical operation for each of the quality dimensions or factors established by EUROSTAT. This quality datasheet has been prepared using the standard quality indicators recommended by the European authority and others arising from EUSTAT’s own statistics operations procedure.
Whenever possible, a reference value whose mission is to facilitate the interpretation of the “goodness” of the given indicator will be added alongside the real value of each indicator. And in general, it shall be expressed by a minimum or maximum reference value for the indicator.
Indicator Descriptions
- Relevance Indicators
- Satisfaction index and importance level by operations groups
The real value of this indicator is calculated using the results of the last available User Satisfaction Survey produced by EUSTAT. The value range, the minimum and maximum of these indicators (between 0 and 5), is included as the reference value.
User satistaction survey
- Number of website hits
The real value of this indicator is calculated using the annual figures from the “Annual Dissemination Report” produced by EUSTAT. It includes all the hits for the data, information, documentation, etc. related to a specific statistics operation. All web hits for the statistical operations for the relevant annual period are included as the reference value.
Number of media hits
The real value reflects the number of times that the specific statistical operation has been mentioned in any of the media (press, digital media, radio and television). The value of this indicator for all the statistical operations is included as the reference value.
- Accuracy and reliability indicators
- Number of indicators (sources) not available quarterly
Calculated as: Total indicators (sources) not available in the current quarter.
- Number of re-estimated periods in the current quarter (except year end)
Calculated as: Number of previous periods re-estimated due to changes in indicators (sources)
- Opportunity and punctuality indicators
- Schedule compliance:
The real value of this indicator will be given by the number of periods where the established economic cycle timeline has been fulfilled. If the operation is structural, the value 1 will be entered if the envisaged publication date has been met and 0 if it has not. The total number of annual reference periods is included as the reference value.
- Average annual time-lag:
It is the time between the reference period of the data and their availability. The real value entered is an average value of the time-lags recorded in all the periods of the year. The time-lag that is established for the statistics operation in the Annual Statistics Programme is included as the reference value.
- Geographical comparability indicators (INE/EUROSTAT)
- No of comparable metadata aspects
The following 10 have been considered as relevant aspects of the metadata: Frequency, Reference Period, Supply GDP, Demand GDP, Income GDP, Employment, information desegregation level, availability of corrected, deseasonalised and cycle-trend series. They are all comparable except for the Income GDP, which Eustat does not calculate, and the desegregation, which is lower in Eustat for the case of Gross Capital Formation.
- Total No of compared aspects
The following 10 have been considered as relevant aspects of the metadata: Frequency, Reference Period, Supply GDP, Demand GDP, Income GDP, Employment, information desegregation level, availability of corrected, deseasonalised and cycle-trend series.
- Comparability rate
No of comparable aspects of the metadata /Total No of aspects compared
- Indicators of comparability over time
- Indicators of comparability over time
Number of years and quarters for which the data are comparable.
- Coherence indicators
- Provisional figure (annual GDP) - CAE
Aliasing level between estimated annual GDP in open year and the provisional estimated GDP in Economic Accounts.
- Final figure (provisional annual GDP) - CAE
Provisional annual GDP in Economic Accounts.
- Absolute error percentage.
Measures the percentage differences between the provisional figure and the final figure.
- Unbiased absolute error percentage
Measures the percentage difference between the provisional figure and the final figure with respect to the average of those two values.
- Accessibility and Clarity indicators
- Number of methodological documents disseminated on the website. (“Methodology & Quality” section)
The real value of this indicator shows the number of documents available under the “Methodology & Quality” section of the website, including this quality datasheet.
- No of publications disseminated (different formats)
The real value of this indicator shows the number of documents available in different formats. This indicator includes the following formats: website tables, press releases, databank, graph indicators, economic situation graphs, main indicators, annual and quarterly newsletter.
- Minimum number of “clicks” needed to access the data tables of the operation.
The real value shows the minimum number of “clicks” needed to access the data tables of the operation.
- Other indicators
- Other indicators
The real value reflects the transition cost of the operation and it uses the EUSTAT total transition costs as the reference value.
