Objectives
Main objectives of the operation:
The generic objective of the EV01 is focused on providing political heads, social and economic agents, University, private researchers, users of census information with quality indicators on this information.
This general objective may be divided in two specific objectives:
1. Obtain through consistence indices calculated with census information, data obtained in the surveying itself and/or by other sources integrated in the Eustat Statistical Population Register, quality indicators of the information derived from the demographic censuses of the years 2000 and 2001.
2. Assess the level of coverage of the census operations.
Coverage
- Population:
- The population referred to in the operation: population whose residence on 1 November 2001 is fixed in one of the municipalities of the A.C. of Euskadi.
- Geographic area:
- The territorial area referred to in the operation: Autonomous Community of Euskadi.
- Time scale:
- Date or period to which the data refers included in the statistic: for basic characteristics the 1 November 2001. For activity data, the web before surveying. For changes of residence the date set was the 1 March 1991.

Sampling
The sample is made up of 2,000 family or group households for the whole of the A.C. of Euskadi, distributed between the three Provinces regardless of size, .i.e. the same number was surveyed in each province.
A series of typologies of sections obtained according to the socio-demographic characteristics of the population are taken into consideration. The sampling design is in two stages, and self weighted in each typology. The section is used as the primary sampling unit.
The sampling framework is derived from two files prepared for pre-printing by the Eustat and INE for the preparation of the range notebooks of the Population and Housing Census of 2001.
